Laaiq began wrestling in 2010, at Parkland high school in North Carolina, which at the time had a 4 year long undefeated streak under Maurice Atwood. Upon his graduation in 2014, Laaiq helped his team secure an 8 year long undefeated streak, with a record of 365-0.  This secured the #2 spot in the record book for longest win-streaks in American wrestling history. After high school, Laaiq wrestled for Pratt Community College under Ken Kepley, who developed Laaiq’s skill to become a 2017 NJCAA National Qualifier. After graduating Pratt, Laaiq then wrestled at Concordia University, Nebraska, under Levi Calhoun. In 2019 Laaiq became a GPAC All Conference wrestler and attained his bachelor’s degree in psychology. Laaiq is also a certified personal trainer.
